Matthew Vasiliauskus gives us his notes on “For His Birthday”

I’ve always been interested in the tools people use for discovery and escape. It seems that the intentions of most individuals revolve around these two elements, and when an action is put into motion it is either because of a desire to progress or protect one’s self. Doors, both corporeal and cerebral, possess this ability, but sometimes the doors we stand in front of are misleading, and the distinction of whether they are portals leading to new and exciting destinations or prisons holding us hostage becomes difficult to determine. This uncertainty has fascinated me a great deal, and it’s something I sought to explore in the poem.

In the Rain by Chamille Kleinman

“”In the Rain” is a digital artwork I created one night to portray my feeling of being lost and lonely, a feeling of the darkness inside, with nothing but rain to wash the tears away.

I draw on a Wacom Cintiq, and use Mixed Media including Sketchbook Pro, Photoshop, Flamepainter, DAZ Studio, Marvelous Designer, After Effects, Red Giant Looksbuilder, etc. I often create my own custom brushes for Photoshop.”
